Let an AI assistant read your Alta closet: what you own and how often you wear it. Read-only.
Connect
https://www.altadaily.com/mcpWorks with Muse, Claude and ChatGPT. Add the URL as a connector, sign in with your Alta account, and approve read-only access. Disconnect anytime from your assistant's connector settings.
Tools
All tools are Read: they never change data, account state or permissions, and have no side effects. None is a sensitive action. Each returns JSON for the signed-in user only.
search_closet
ReadSearch the user's published closet items, newest first. Call this first to get the item_ids other tools take.
Inputs (all optional unless noted)
| query | Words to match in name, brand, category or description. Every word must match. Max 200 characters. |
| category | tops, bottoms, shoes, accessories, outerwear, dresses, other pieces, jewelry or bags. |
| color | white, cream, beige, silver, gold, yellow, orange, rose gold, red, magenta, pink, maroon, purple, blue, green, olive green, caramel, tan, brown, diamond, navy, gray or black. |
| season | spring, summer, fall or winter. |
| limit | Items per page. Default 20, max 50. |
| cursor | next_cursor from the previous page. |
Returns
items[] with item_id, name, brand, category, colors, seasons, dress_codes, price, image_url and added_at; total (matches before paging); next_cursor (null on the last page).
get_items
ReadGet closet items by id, with full detail.
Inputs (all optional unless noted)
| item_ids | Required. Ids from search_closet or wear_stats, 1 to 50. |
Returns
items[] (the search_closet fields plus rgb_colors) and not_found[] for ids that aren't in the user's published closet.
wear_stats
ReadHow often the user wore each published item, from the outfits they logged as worn. Items never worn count 0.
Inputs (all optional unless noted)
| timeframe | "all" for all time, or "month" with month set. |
| month | YYYY-MM. Required when timeframe is "month". |
| order | "most" (default) or "least" worn first. |
| limit | Items to return. Default 50, max 500. |
Returns
items[] with item_id, name, category and times_worn; total_items.
Errors and limits
A failed tool call returns isError: true with { "error": { "code", "message" } }. The message is safe to show the user.
| invalid_input | An argument is invalid. The message says which. |
| timeout | The read took longer than 6 seconds. Safe to retry. |
| insufficient_scope | The connection lacks the closet:write permission. The user reconnects and allows it. |
| internal_error | Unexpected failure. Safe to retry. |
Over 60 requests a minute per user returns 429 with Retry-After.
Data and privacy
- Tools read only the signed-in user's published closet items and logged outfits. No tool takes a user id.
- We don't store or log tool arguments or results.
