How to onboard onto Alta
Step 1: Take the brief onboarding quiz
This 2-minute quiz helps Alta get an initial understanding of your style.
Step 2: Upload closet pieces
To start using Alta, you only need to upload 5 pieces to get your first outfits.
However, keep uploading pieces evenly across all categories (we recommend at least 70 items total including accessories, shoes, and bags). The more you add, the more well-rounded your outfit suggestions become.
Alta does the work for you
We'll categorize, select the color, and add seasonal and dress code tags for all of your pieces. Use the Prettify feature so that your digital closet looks like a beautiful e-commerce storefront.
Pro-tip: It's best to check that each item is in your preferred dress code and seasonal categories. This helps Alta find fantastic outfit combinations that match your style and use each item in as many outfits as possible.
Set up your avatar
In the Profile tab (4th tab), click your profile photo and tap the avatar section. Upload a face photo, body photo, select your height & weight, and add a skin/hair color description. There's also avatar poses and shirt tucking preferences to choose from.
Personalizing your profile
In the Profile tab (4th tab), click the gear icon in the top right corner.
About you
Pro-tip: Tell Alta who you are by adding your weekly activities and hobbies to the Occupation section. This will ultra-personalize your homepage outfits.
Style preferences
Add a detailed description to the “I Prefer” section. Don't worry about the “Dislike” yet! Later, clicking the dislike button on homepage outfits and leaving simple feedback will update this section with your style “don'ts.”
Choose brands and budget
Tell Alta what brands you like and how much you're willing to spend.
Privacy
Control who can see your profile, closet, and avatars. You can make your account completely private.
Adding friends
There's a good chance one of your friends uses Alta. In the Profile tab, click the “Following” button to add family and friends. Search friends by the full name listed in their Alta profile, or follow mutual connections under “Suggested For You.”
